BANJO TUNERS
5th String Geared Banjo Tuner
A right-angle design with smooth (non-planetary) geared tuning peg. These are much easier to tune than the tension style 5th string tuners you often see. It stays in tune better too. A tapered peghole is required for installation.

Zither Pin Tuners
This is a standard zither pin like you find on hammered dulcimers or autoharps. They fit a 3/16 inch diameter hole and measure 1-3/4 inches long.
They work great as inexpensive tuners on experimental designs, or single stringed instruments where tuning is seldom an issue. I've used them on cigar box ukuleles and guitars, lap steel guitars, diddley bows and canjos. I've even used these as the 5th string "tuning machine" on 5 string banjos.
Installation is super easy. All you do is drill a 3/16 inch hole and screw them in. Some people hammer them in but I prefer to screw them in. You can use a standard adjustable wrench if you leave enough room. Otherwise, I have "clock keys" available.
