3 String "Cuesta-Rey" Electric Lap Steel Guitar -SOLD
I got a hankerin' one day to build a lap steel guitar. I cut a slice off an old shelf board, and paired it up with a cigar box and kitchen junk. I liked it so much I built two more. The neck from this one is sliced off that same shelf board. It has a super colorful Cuesta-Rey cigar box and a couple brass sound holes. This was specifically made to be played on the lap. It has high action, and a square neck. The "frets" are just scores in the neck that have been dyed with some varnish. The fret markers along it's 21" scale are carpet tacks from an estate sale. A piece of an old umbrella style clothes line got pressed into service as the nut. Nestled under the bridge is a piezo pickup, so you can run this through your amp for more volume or effects. It's currently strung with the top 3 strings from a guitar which gives it a deep rich tone. Comes with a glass slide.
