Diddley bows were originally made from a piece of board, a couple nails, some broom wire and a bottle. Many early blues musicians got their start on one.

With this one I tried to capture a bit of that "use what you got" look.  It's made with a piece of scrap wood I rescued on garbage day, a hinge from the coffee can of rusty hinges I got at a decrepit little thrift store, a candy tin, some assorted metal bits, and a few mismatched screws.

It has carpet tacks (from an estate sale) and rusty hinge pins marking the frets along it's 24" scale.  Enclosed in the candy tin is a piezo pickup so you can run this thing through your guitar amp. It uses an artificially aged tuning machine to keep it in tune while still looking "rustic."  I'll even throw in a glass slide.

Get back to the roots of the blues with an instrument that looks like it might have been sitting in someones garage long enough to actually be a piece of history.
